Essential Facts about Choosing a Wedding Photographer
If there one aspect of the wedding planning which is quite difficult to decide on, that is none other than choosing a wedding photographer. This is because you will not get to see the results of the photographer's work until after the wedding.
What is you are not satisfied with the way that the moments on your big day were captured on film? This is exactly the reason why you need to take the time in really thinking about which photographer you will choose for your wedding day.
First Things First: Get Referrals
When looking for the perfect wedding photographer, you need to be both creative and resourceful. Basically, the first thing that you can do is make initial inquiries. Create a list of the photographers that you can consider hiring.
Maybe your cousin recently got married – ask the couple who did the photos for their wedding. Or maybe you have a colleague who personally knows a good events photographer. Get the name or the number and ask whether they specialize in wedding photography or not.
The Next Step: Make the Initial Contact & Move on to the Details
Now that you've created a list of the photographers, make the initial contact. Give them a call or send them an e-mail. Even without personally meeting the photographer, you would already see if you like their work or not based on their website.
Ask about their style of photography; whether they use digital prints or film negatives; if they shoot in black and white, colored or a combination of both; and if they specialize in candid shots, a series of photos which tell a story or the traditional fixed poses.
Naturally, the price, their availability on your wedding date and what is included in the wedding package should also be a consideration.
Finally, the Verdict!
After narrowing down your choices to two or three photographers, make your final decision. Don't base your selection on the price – instead, go with your instinct and select a photographer whose work moved you the most.
Remember that after the wedding ceremony and reception are over, all that you will have left of the most important day in your lives is the photos – so choose the best wedding photographer that you can get!
